Junior Cycle:
Geography is a core subject at Junior Cycle Level and is studied at common level.
Junior Cycle Geography focuses on providing students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, values and behaviours that allow students to explore their world. Students will complete two CBA’s. One during 2nd year called “Geography in the News” and one in 3rd year titled “My Geography”. These CBA’s give students a chosen area of study which is of interest to them. Some examples of CBA’s can be seen below.

Senior Cycle:
Leaving Certificate Geography may be studied at Ordinary or Higher level.
The course is divided into core, elective and optional units of study. Geography is assessed at Ordinary and Higher level. Students are expected to complete a report on a geographical investigation and to sit a written examination.
